M.Sc. Biserka Knezić Frković, MD, graduated from the School of Medicine University of Zagreb, she works in gynecology since 2005. In 2011 she passed the Specialty Exam at University Hospital Centre Zagreb, Petrova with the highest grade.
After several years spent in the Croatian health system, dr. Knezić Frković gathered further experience in the Slovenian hospital Splošnoj bolnišnici Brežice. Her fields of interest include perinatal medicine, fetal ultrasound (fetal echocardiography and fetal neuroscan), human reproduction, and 3D/4D ultrasound in gynecology.
Dr. Knezić Frković is one of the rare Croatian gynecologists with a certificate for the combined first-trimester screening test, which was awarded to her after many years of professional work and education by The Fetal Medicine Foundation, London (Licence – Certificates of competence: The 11-13 weeks scan, Doppler ultrasound, Cervical assessment, Certificate of Competence in Antenatal surveillance. Fetal cardiac scanning and Preeclampsia screening).
She did part of the practical education at The Liverpool Women`s Hospital, Centre for Women`s Health Research, under Professor Žarko Alfirević, and at Feto Maternal Medical Center Doha, Qatar under the mentorship of Professor A. Badreldeen.
Dr. Knezić Frković was awarded many stipends, among them two from Weill Cornell Medicine Centre in New York and The Medical University of Vienna. With those stipends, she finished Salzburg Weill Cornell Seminar in Reproductive Medicine, in Salzburg, Austria.
During her specialist postgraduate study, she finished “Ultrasound in Gynecology and Obstetrics” at University Hospital “Sveti Duh” and obtained a master’s degree in Ultrasound in Gynecology and Obstetrics. She also finished a specialist postgraduate study program for continued education in Ultrasound in Gynecology and Obstetrics, organized by Ian Donald Inter–University School of Medical Ultrasound.
In Wien, she completed courses “Advanced course in 3D/4D UZV from fetal medicine and gynecology” organized by the Academy of Medical Ultrasound, and she spent some time in London where she finished Advances in Fetal Medicine Courses, organized by The Fetal Medicine Foundation. She also finished theoretical and practical ultrasound course in gynecology and obstetrics at the Center for perinatal diagnostics „Unit Centro Gutenberg“, Malaga, Spain.
With Austrian American Foundation stipend, she spent time in Wien AHK – Allgemeiness Krankenhaus Wien and University Hospital Wien on Clinical Observership in Reproductive medicine, IVF, and Fetal medicine, from 1st to 31st March 2022.
Dr. Knezić Frković participated in numerous symposia and congresses regarding gynecology and obstetrics in Croatia and internationally, and besides fetal medicine and human reproduction, she’s interested in other gynecological fields.
