Karolina Poljak has a Master’s in Experimental Biology, she graduated from the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Science in September 2020 as a Magna cum laude in Experimental Biology, module Physiology, and immunobiology. She did the work for her master’s thesis in the Laboratory for Neuro-Oncology at the Croatian Institute for Brain Research, University of Zagreb School of Medicine, where she gained experience in molecular biology methods. The results of this work were published in the journal Cancers (Basel) with the name “Methylation Patterns of DKK1, DKK3, and GSK3β Are Accompanied with Different Expression Levels in Human Astrocytoma”. She further gained experience through an internship at the Laboratory for molecular genetics, Department of molecular biology at Ruđer Bošković Institute, Zagreb, Croatia.
During the final years of her studies, she showed interest in human reproduction. She joined the BetaPlus team in March 2021. Karolina is very hard-working, responsible, and persistent, highly motivated for work, continued learning and obtaining new theoretical and practical skills in the IVF Laboratory.
