The following tables show the overall ART success rates in BetaPlus Center in 2016, and for the overall period from the opening of our institution until present day.
In 2016, 505 cycles were started. Of those, 311 were IVF/ICSI procedures, 2 were follicle aspirations for egg cryopreservation, 128 were frozen embryo transfers and 64 were intrauterine inseminations.
Of the 311 planned IVF/ICSI procedures, 15 cycles were cancelled before aspiration, mostly due to poor response to stimulation. In 7 women no eggs were retrieved during the aspiration, and in 17 (5.5%) fertilization did not occur. In 11 cases we have opted for “freeze all” strategy because of the danger of developing ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome.
This brings us to a total number of 257 women who had embryo transfer in the fresh cycle, with seven twin pregnancies. None of the patients had ectopic pregnancy, and no one was hospitalized due to ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome. One patient had pelvic inflammatory disease after aspiration. She was hospitalized and surgically treated and is now well. Of all pregnancies, 18 were biochemical or miscarriage. The rest of data is shown in the tables below.
Same as every year, we have done an additional analysis of the factors that may influence the success rate. Even though none of the factors had been statistically relevant when comparing pregnant and women who did not get pregnant, we believe the numbers are interesting to compare.
Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET)
Of 119 planned frozen embryo transfers in 2016, 9 were cancelled due to poor response to planned therapy or lack of ovulation when FET was planned in the natural cycle. 63 women had a single embryo transfer, 54 double embryo transfer, and 2 women had 3 embryos transferred. Twelve women had day 3 FET and the remaining had blastocyst FET. We had 2 twin pregnancies and 13 biochemical pregnancies or miscarriages.
Artificial Insemination Husband (AIH)
A total of 58 women had AIH, which resulted in 7 pregnancies. All pregnant women were under the age of 37.
