Dr. Nataša Šemnički is a gynecologist and obstetrician who completed her studies at University of Zagreb School of Medicine. During residency she has taken postgraduate studies in Ultrasound in Gynecology and Obstetrics. After residency, she has developed her skills in ultrasound diagnostics by completing several advanced courses in the use of ultrasound in gynecology and obstetrics, 3D/4D ultrasound diagnostics and fetal diagnostics, both home and abroad. She has been among the first in Croatia to become FMF certified in ultrasound first and second trimester risk analysis, fetal echocardiology, evaluation of fetal and uterine vascular parameters in CD as well as in cervicometrics which all remain her primary areas of everyday work using advanced 3D/4D ultrasound technology.
She has shown specific interest in endocrinology and human reproduction (PCOS and other issues of hormone imbalance) and she researches the causes of infertility using advanced diagnostics techniques such as Sono HSG and SIS combined with 3D ultrasound evaluation. She also practices colposcopy and treatment of abnormal cervical changes using less invasive procedures.
In 2009 and 2010, Dr. Šemnički attended a course in Medical Acupuncture passing the final exam to receive a diploma for autonomous work and the knowledge gained during this course has proven especially useful in her work as a gynecologist. By means of complementary and individual approach and by combining western and oriental medicine, Dr. Šemnički works on several issues in gynecology – irregular, painful and substantial periods, PMS, problems in menopause, infections and diagnosing and dealing with causes of infertility which makes the assisted fertilization procedures easier as well. She has invested a lot of effort in preparing pregnant women to give birth faster and easier and assists with dealing with breast-feeding issues.
Dr. Šemnički participates in gynecology and obstetrics congresses and has co-authored several scientific articles.
